The Christmas holiday is the perfect break for children to learn how to tie their own shoelaces. Tying shoelaces requires a level of dexterity most kids don’t possess until they’re between five and seven. Requiring patience and practice set time aside where your child will not feel rushed or under pressure. Starting the new school term with a new skill is a fantastic boost your child’s confidence.
And a life skill that seems so easy to us now can lead to all manner of learning and development! See Terry Moore at TED.
